I’ve been meaning to shout out Propagate Studio on Route 57. You could call this spot on the map a few different things. Stewartsville NJ, Broadway, Franklin… I don’t know which is technically the right one so I must list them all. In Warren County, NJ.
This place is an artist and crafter’s dream. Run by an uber-creative, fun and funky gal named Samantha Matthews and her partner Matt, they offer all kinds of artist-friendly activities, art classes, events and more. For kids and adults alike.
We attended Mario Day where they had hooked up both modern and vintage gaming systems for kids to try out old school and up-to-date Mario Brothers video games.
Not only that, but kids got to paint some Mario art using a provided blank canvas, acrylic paints and picture guides to work from.
So the event was a little of each: hands-on creating, socializing and gaming for a nice mix!
Propagate runs all kinds of different events so I’ll just list a few off the top of my head.
- Hang out for fiber arts gatherings where you can bring your yarn, wool and supplies and join the group in crafting your own project among friends.
- Attend a class, like the Bob Ross painting class which I am told spots fill up pretty quickly for.
- Gather for a Potluck Supper! Sign up and bring something tasty, hang out and enjoy a nice meal with local artist friends.
- Stop in and shop for art supplies, vintage and handmade items created by local artists.
If you are a local artist, talk to Sam about possibly renting space for your wares in one of their display booths.
Propagate studio is a welcoming and inspiring place for creators to come together and bring new ideas to life!
Each week brings something different. Check their Facebook page for updates.
If you go into the studio there’s a dry erase board with the current month’s events listed on a calendar.
(This was the March calendar just to give you an idea of what they offer.)
Snap a pic so you know what’s coming!
