Linguine and Red Clam Sauce Recipe from Amy’s Best Dishes

Spaghetti or linguine and clams make a hearty and delicious, quick and easy weeknight dinner that the whole family will enjoy.

Here’s Amy of Amy’s best dishes to take you through the basics of this recipe.

First, get a red sauce going on the side. If you already have one made in advance then that will work perfectly.

Otherwise, sautee three cloves of garlic and olive oil in a saucepan and add three large cans of tomato sauce and a handful of herbs such as thyme, parsley and rosemary. Simmer that for about a half an hour or longer.

It’s great to have homemade marinara stored in jars or frozen in the freezer, ready to use with a quick thaw in a recipe like this one. Of course, store-bought jarred sauce will do in a pinch!

Meanwhile, in a deep skillet on the stove top heat up minced garlic and olive oil. Stir in fresh chopped parsley.

Add canned clams, can be a combination of whole and mixed clams. Save the clam broth because you’ll be using it later on in the recipe.

Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer for about a half an hour.

Add a few ladles full of the red sauce, then pour in half of the clam juice.

Cook linguine to your liking. Stir your sauce well and ladle it over the pasta.
