I gave my son his first taste of disco fries earlier this year. He thought about them and reminded me yesterday to make them again. So I did.
I hit Walmart on a Friday night, and grabbed frozen french fries, two bags, a bunch of cheese and brown gravy in a jar.
That’s all you really need to have Disco Fries just as good as the diner makes.
While I was there I saw another mom who I knew. She was out getting wings and celery because her daughter asked for hot wings. That’s how moms do. Yes, we are awesome. Our kids deserve some good food so when they ask us, we oblige.
This is how you make disco fries. Easy peasy.
Step 1, cook the fries according to the bag instructions.
Step 2, pile them up and top with cheese, glorious cheese, then bake to melted.
Step 3, pour warm brown gravy over the top.
I want to add that yesterday I made a little mistake. I poured the gravy on before baking with the cheese on top. This made the fries very mushy.
If your preference is mushy fries then that can work for you. Today, I made them again and I thought they were better with cheese melted on first, then you pour the warm gravy over the crunchy fries.
